Al Dubai!

My first reaction when i saw Dubai through the air plane window was..wow the city is structured really well! The airport was grand...really grand and huge! S said that's the potential this city has, with 20% arabs and 80% Expats and only 7 Million population, the city is worth every bit of it.

Soon coming...interesting insights into my first ever international travel!

The Circle Of Life!

This song is so full of optimisim, faith and belief!

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to be seen than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done

Some say eat or be eaten
Some say live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should never take more than you give

In the circle of life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

Go Kiss the World!

Read the book with the same title written by Subroto Bagchi, who is co-founder of Mindtree. The book describes his journey from his childhood in the interiors of Orissa to becoming the COO of Mindtree. Found it good, few take away points:

1. Don't hesitate to move on...
2. Communicate with people and stay connected *nokia helps*
3. Don't be afraid to start all over again
4. Respect your work
5. To receive something first give
6. All manifestations starts with a dream! Dream,Desire and Act
7. Respect people and their capabilities..don't condem
8. All business decisions are 99% emotional and 1% business
9. Work at any place as an entreprenur
10.Build a strong support system
11.Instead of trying to impress your boss, treat your subordinates well...they may actually lead to all the success.
12. And lastly go kiss the world...

Bidaai!!

Bidaai was a very alien concept to me as was marriage. The concept of marriage still got clearer when i met ashu, i knew i would love to spend my life with him.The concept of Bidaai was and is still strange, post marriage also i tried not to relive/rethink of the expierence and i cleverly deleted it physically (pics, videos, saree)from whereever i could possible do it. But it remained imbibed in my memory so strongly that it hits back at me whenever it can.

At a recent visit to my cousin's shaadi, the memories came back again and scared me again!

Bidaai means that you are no longer a part of the family you were born to, from now on you are free to use your husband's name, you will no longer have a space in the house where you have spent ages, you suddenly become a integral part of your husband's family and you have a set of parents there who you have to respect & love as parents without expecting them to reciprocate or without you having a right on them as you would have on your own parents. Is it a process of disowning daughter...changing the priorities for her and for the family. For the girl suddenly husband and his family is the priority!

Am sure it is difficult on parents as it is on the girl. For parents, their kid is everything, since the time the kid comes to the world their lives have revolved around the baby and suddenly they realise that no longer will the girl who was the centre of their life should be anymore be there for them!!

Strange are the ways of life!

Eerie!

Yesterday's lunch at office was rather eeire rather it got eerie! The reason, all of sudden we started discussing some weird stories that some of us had experienced. Started with VD telling about him seeing a "Chudail" on a terrace of a building oppposite to his and as per him she was wearing white saree and was laughing like an evil!! The scene was straight out of Ramsay movies (given that VD has fascination to all crappy bollywood movies - he sees Ajooba on Zee Movies everytime its aired). The stories started building up with everyone narrating incidents that they have gone through or someone close has experienced.I was rather shut and only listening cause what i have experienced would have sent chill down everyones spine! so decided to blog those experiences! they are very personal, but scary too.

1. Our neighbour for five years now, Mrs M, she is rather reclusive and doesnt venture out and rather sits at home and does nothing. Husband has a good high paying job and has two grown-up kids.Once on the staircase, i tried to be social(for a change) and asked her "how she is doing?"!That was it, she spoke for next half and hour (on stairs) and i was listening dumbfounded!

Apparently the building we live in is haunted (as per her)! She experiences weird things in her house, like as soon as you stand under a shower,it starts automatically with a gush of hot water. She and her daughter have faced instances like hair pulling etc.The ghosts appraently have detoriated her health and her peace of mind (but ofcourse)

Why i listened her out and did speak a word, cause when i use to be at home i use to hear someone calling me ....

2. Another very eeire incident! Rather very personal, ideally would have kept it to myself, but probably posting it here will relieve me of something. Its about my best friend for years. She is now is US with her two kids and hubby.Probably i miss her a lot or is there any reason to it, i don't know, but I dream frequently that her hubby has died and his body was exhumed from their apartment.Wow! so much so, the dream feels so real that once i almost got up at 4 in the morning and dialed her number...

3. This story is about a colleague in my x organisation. He met with a ghastly accident and died.Went to the hospital where is body was kept, before his parents could claim it. Was shattered to see him.Had always seen him young, full of energy and always cracking jokes, just couldn't see him lying so lifeless. I still see him somewhere...rather its like someone is crossing and i think its him...

4.This one is about a dear colleague who lost her father.Few days after her father was cremated, saw a v strange dream. I saw her father in my dream telling me where his property papers are and that i should be taking care of her.The dream is still very crystal clear...

6 pic!

No rayshma didn't tag me this time around. So took it up on my own cause i love this space and i know i havent been giving it enough(read no) time.

I went to 6th folder in my pics section and saw the 6th pic!viola it was my bro's shaadi album and the 6th pic is rather personal, ideally wouldnt have put up on the blog.

The pic was clicked by Advika that's first and then the pic has my granny, mom and dad and somewhere in the backdrop is my nani too.So much so, this was a v special ocassion,my bro got married on the 2nd of May and Parent's anniversary is on the 1st!We decided to throw a surprise anniversary party for my parents,so it was 1st evening and we had invited all near and dear ones and my parents had no clue what we were upto. In the evening my parents had gone to the bride's place for some ritual and they would be back by 8! Me and my bro stayed back, people started coming in and we decorated our place, as soon as we got to know mom and dad were back we switched off lights and they came wondering why all the lights are off as soon as they entered we made Advika say "Happy Anniversary" in her own special way and the lights were switched on to a cake, lot of friends and relatives. Mom and Dad were pleasantly surprised and loved the entire evening do we had organised. My grandparents were thrilled with what we did and in the pic you see my dadi giving blessings to my mom and dad!!

Never loved this pic so much before this :-)!
